Tata Harrier facelift spotted testing with new grille [Video]

Tata is on a relentless path of updating its entire SUV lineup. Following the launch of the Punch CNG and the updated Punch with a sunroof, the Indian automaker is now gearing up for the launch of the extensively upgraded Nexon compact SUV. Furthermore, the updated versions of the larger SUVs, Harrier and Safari, are currently undergoing trial runs in preparation for their launch before the festive season. Recent sightings of the test mules provide undeniable evidence of this ongoing development. These sightings substantiate that the Harrier will be endowed with a fresh front fascia that closely resembles the upcoming all-new Tata Nexon, which was recently spotted completely undisguised.

Images of the Tata Harrier facelift’s test mule by MotorOctane reveal a wholly revamped fascia, hinting at a new frontal appearance heavily influenced by the forthcoming Nexon, poised to make its debut in showrooms. Just like the upcoming Nexon, the revamped Harrier will also sport a sleeker front grille with a reworked configuration for the headlamps.

Drawing inspiration from the Curvv concept, the Harrier will also feature sleeker daytime running LEDs with outward kinks flowing downward beside the trimmer grille, as well as a distinct vertical enclosure housing all LED projectors on the front bumper. This design approach has already been integrated into the updated Tata Nexon, as affirmed by recent spy images, and is anticipated to make its way into the refreshed Harrier and Safari.

Beyond this revamped front fascia, the Harrier will also introduce fresh styling for the 18-inch machined alloy wheels and a reimagined design for the LED tail lamps, complemented by an LED connecting light bar positioned between them. The interior of the SUV is also poised for a comprehensive overhaul, promising a more luxurious and ergonomically sound layout. The current roster of features, including the 7-inch full-TFT instrument console, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, powered driver’s seat with memory settings, and ADAS, will be retained.

Tata Motors will persist with the existing 2.0-litre diesel engine for the Harrier facelift, accompanied by the current transmission options of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Presently, this engine generates 170 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. However, there are expectations that the engine will undergo tuning to deliver more robust performance figures in the facelifted model. Additionally, the updated Harrier is anticipated to introduce an entirely new 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which was showcased by Tata Motors at the Auto Expo 2023.
